It’s Saturday
afternoon and raining outside. I had every intention to get up this morning and
going for a 5km 'wog' (walk/jog, as I like to call it). But when I woke up, late, and saw that it was windy and raining, there were 100 million other things I would rather
have done other than going outdoors. I had promised my 7-year-old that we were
going to make a concerted effort to get healthier, so I couldn’t very well let
the weather dictate my commitment to getting myself moving.
We went
to the beach promenade and we were the only crazy humans outdoors the whole
way. But it was the most beautiful experience I’ve had down there. The was a
spring low tide and the water was about 50m – 70m out and we saw the Durban
beach in a way we’ll probably never see it like that again.
We only
managed 2kms because of the howling wind and rain, but I’m glad we did go, and
it set me up right for the rest of the day. I am currently sipping on some bullet-proof
coffee, my head is clear and I feel motivated to get through my workload (which
never ends).
