It makes all the
different which lenses you chose to look thorough when looking at something.
I had this epiphany today
when I was out getting groceries. One of my clients manufactures a product which
I consume because I think it’s the BEST on the market, it is also cost
effective which helps the budget.
I placed an executive in
this business a few years ago and he got to see the raw behind the scenes goings-on.
He also complained that the management of the business was poor and advised me
never to place anyone there again because I would be ruining my reputation.
This business is current
exploding in the market and its competitor is in huge trouble because the
product is nicer, cheaper and available in most grocery stores now.
Back to my encounter. I have
had this love hate relationship with the product because I like it but hate
what my candidate had to endure behind the scenes. At the take-away restaurant today
which I frequent a few times a week. I noticed the staff using this product and
asked on why they had changed over from the competition?
The chap commented that
the quality was much better at a fraction of the price (which is what I always
thought). He also said that the company must be run by amazing people for them
to grow so rapidly nationally and still keep their costs low.
Interesting I thought.
It’s make all the
difference which lenses you are looking through because some will like you and
some will hate you – does that matter? There is that saying, ‘What other people
think of you is none of your business’ – Regina Brett. If my client worried
about what a disgruntled employee was thinking of them they may not have grown
by 30% overnight.
As an outside, feeling I have
allegiance to both, I have to be very objective when looking through my lenses.
